Learn to weave a beautiful large decorative star using traditional basketmaking reed. you’ll create one large (up to 16” across) or two smaller woven stars learning simple weaving techniques and working with natural basketry materials. No experience necessary. All materials provided.

About the event
Create a beautiful woven star using traditional basketmaking reed in this beginner-friendly workshop.
You'll learn simple weaving techniques as you transform natural reed into a decorative star that can be displayed year-round or used as seasonal décor. Along the way, we'll cover basic reed preparation, weaving methods, shaping, and finishing techniques to help you create a sturdy and attractive finished piece.
This workshop is a wonderful introduction to working with basketmaking materials and offers a relaxing, hands-on creative experience. Whether you're new to weaving or simply looking to try a different fiber art, you'll enjoy learning the process step-by-step in a supportive studio environment.
Your finished star can be displayed on a wall, incorporated into wreaths and seasonal decorations, or enjoyed as a handcrafted piece of folk art.
No experience is necessary. All materials and tools are provided.
