About the event
Choose two unique pieces of driftwood to use as the foundation for your Santa ornaments. During class, you’ll paint one ornament using acrylic paints while learning how to basecoat, shade, and dry-brush this folk-art design. These techniques will bring out Santa’s face, beard, and coat while working with the wood’s existing shape and texture.
If time allows, you may begin or complete your second ornament during class. Otherwise, you can take it home to finish using the techniques you learned.
In the final step, antiquing wax will be applied to emphasize the surface details and give the finished piece a softly aged appearance.
Paints, brushes, wax, and palette paper are provided.
