About the event

Discover the art of traditional band weaving in this beginner-friendly workshop using the inkle loom, a compact tool used for centuries to create strong, decorative bands. From European folk costume trims to Central and South American strap weaving, narrow band weaving has deep roots across cultures and history. In this hands-on class, you’ll learn the basics of warping, weaving, and finishing on an inkle loom. Everyone will leave with their own woven sample—perfect as a bracelet, key fob, or bookmark—and the skills to keep weaving on your own. Whether you're drawn to textile history or just want to try something new and tactile, this workshop offers a beautiful intro to weaving.
